At the far north of the Dales, just inside the Yorkshire border, is the Tan Hill Inn. At 1,732 feet above sea level it’s Britain’s highest Inn. There has been much controversy over which side of the border the Pub should lie: from 1974, border changes moved it into Durham, but was reviewed in 1987 after much protest, and came back to Yorkshire.

Tan Hill is featured on our 55-minute video Picture Postcard Yorkshire, and can be purchased on line. Click here to find out more.
