Moving down the Dale you arrive at Grassington, a popular village which is about the largest in Upper Wharfedale. This used to be a mining village and the remains of the industry may still be found on the moors above.

Many features of the village, including the cobbled square, have been preserved. At Christmas the shopkeepers dress in Dickensian costume, turning Grassington into a Victorian Village, in keeping with its past.

Grassington is featured on our 55-minute video Picture Postcard Yorkshire, and can be purchased on line. Click here to find out more.
