Moving
down the Dale you arrive at Grassington, a popular village which is about
the largest in Upper Wharfedale. This used to be a mining village and
the remains of the industry may still be found on the moors above.
Many features of the village, including the cobbled square, have been
preserved. At Christmas the shopkeepers dress in Dickensian costume, turning
Grassington into a Victorian Village, in keeping with its past.
